Usman Kamaludeen (Prof. Kamalophyta)
Usman Kamaludeen (Prof. Kamalophyta) is a hard-of-hearing writer, biologist, and storyteller whose work sits at the intersection of science, emotion, and the human experience. A first-class graduate of Biology from Kaduna State University (KASU), he is deeply passionate about using narrative to illuminate complex health conditions and the lived realities of those who often go unheard.
His literary journey began with his powerful debut, Dark Days: A Letter to Wuchereria, an epistolary exploration of loss, resilience, and becoming; a book that established his voice as both intimate and courageous. Seized by Love is his second novel, a tender yet unflinching portrayal of complex partial seizures, love, stigma, and the battle for self-identity.
He is currently working on two forthcoming novels: Beneath the Jacaranda Trees, which weaves love with HIV awareness, and In the Quiet, I Found You, a heartfelt story rooted in hard-of-hearing and deaf awareness. Though centered on advocacy, both novels remain deeply human love stories at their core.
Beyond the page, Usman is an academic and business writer, and founder of Musa’adah Writing Hub, where he supports students, researchers, and professionals in crafting impactful academic and business documents. He also serves as a teacher, tutor and mentor, guiding younger generations toward academic and career excellence.
With a unique blend of scientific insight and emotional depth, Usman is committed to advancing biological research and using storytelling as a bridge between science and humanity, reminding readers that behind every condition, diagnosis, and statistic is a living, breathing human story.
